Moor Laser Doppler Imager
This non-invasive imaging system can evaluate superficial (2-3 mm depth) circulation with high spatial resolution.

ScienceTech Spectrophotometer
The spectrometer may be combined with the Moor Laser Doppler Imaging systems to provide direct non-invasive measurements of microvascular hemoglobin, tissue oxygenation (ScienceTech) and blood flow (Moor) in animals or human subjects.

Surgical Bench
Room 3277 is classified as BL2 and has been approved for live animal use under anesthesia. The stainless-steel bench can be used for animal procedures such arterial and venular catheterization, intubation and muscle dissection in preparation for imaging on the Olympus intravital microscope (multi-modal), the Nikon A1R confocal microscope and/or the multiphoton microscope.

Laxco LMS-Z200 Dissecting Microscope
Stereo zoom microscope with illumination aids in catheterization of blood vessels and tissue dissection for intravital microscopy. This microscope is supported by a boom stand so it can swing in and out of the way as needed during surgery.

Kent Scientific SomnoSuite
The SomnoSuite is a low-flow anesthesia system for mice and rats with temperature monitoring and homeothermic control module. It includes add-on modules to ventilate the animal, measure oxygen saturations (pulse oximeter), heart rate, respiratory rate and end-tidal CO2. Blood pressure can also be measured non-invasively with the CODA tail cuff. This system can be used as life-support and monitoring during intravital microscopy while the animal is positioned on the Nikon Ti2-E Confocal Inverted Microscope.

Harvard Apparatus Small Animal Physiological Monitoring System
This apparatus includes a homeothermic system (heated platform and rectal probe for precise temperature control and monitoring) and ECG leads. This system also measures heart and breath rate, blood pressure (invasive) and SpO2 (pulse oximetry with a paw/tail sensor) in mice or rats under anesthesia. A stereotaxic device for mice can be used for deep tissue brain imaging on the platform. The data from the platform is transferred in real-time to a tablet via Bluetooth, making this system ideal for monitoring animals encased in a dark box on the multiphoton microscope. All data is recorded and can easily be exported for further analysis. A Harvard Apparatus small animal ventilator is also available with the system and can be used in conjunction with the UNOV200 isoflurane vaporizer. Inspired oxygen can be varied using a mix of nitrogen and oxygen and can be monitored using an oxygen sensor (Teledyne Oxygen Analyzer).

Point-of-care i-STAT
i-STAT is a blood analysis system that provides immediate measurements of blood gases, hematology, blood chemistry, coagulation, endocrinology and cardiac markers. This can be used on repeatedly sampled blood from rats or terminally sampled blood from mice.

ADInstruments Labchart Blood Pressure Monitoring System
This system allows measurement and recording of invasive blood pressure using a catheter in carotid artery (rat) and a pressure transducer. This instrument has the flexibility of adding flow probes in the future.

Miscellaneous Equipment
Shared equipment in the facility include a hair trimmer for animal preparation for surgery, syringe pumps for fluid resuscitation (rat) and wound clip applicator for closure of surgical incisions.
